Topic: Opinions on Dabo

Has anyone used Dabo lately? I'm a very novice programmer, am starting on Python database app that will need a GUI. Dabo looks interesting, but what's the real-world scoop on it?

Is it used by many developers? It's not talked about very much here or anywhere, as far as I can tell. I'm just a little concerned that the support community might be too small, or the possibility that writers might decide to throw in the towel.

What is your assessment of Dabo?

Hi haldin,

I have no real-world experience in using Dabo, but from what I read on the Net it's a pretty solid framework. To me it looks in an active development at the moment, just take a look at their website's news section. Also I see it listed over at Python's official website.

Thanks Einherjar.

Since I don't have any experience with such things I appreciate your assessment.  It just doesn't seem to be very popular, despite how good it appears to me to be.  That's why I thought I should ask for experienced people's opinions.

I think if you want

best to stick with Windows & Microsoft tools... the acid test is really "does this work for me?" and there is one good way to find that out!

Agreed - Give it a go, although I haven't used it myself for before.
